Estimator / Project Manager - Optimal Construction Services

Optimal Construction Services is a small contractor/subcontractor which specializes in metal buildings. We are seeking a candidate that wants to focus on the pre-engineered metal building part of the project. We have been involved in hundreds of pre-engineered building projects throughout Chicagoland and the surrounding area.

This position we are asking for 5+ years of metal building experience either directly with a PEMB manufacturer or experience with a metal building contractor. Construction management or general construction knowledge is required as well. Salary is commensurate with experience.

Your role would primarily be in an office setting putting together project proposals based upon drawings and specifications. There would also be opportunity to do project submittals, onsite project management, site meetings, coordination with other trades, scheduling, procurement. From time to time, delivery of materials to jobsites would be required. Applicant should be able to lift 50# in a jobsite environment.

The right candidate should have strong customer skills, working knowledge of steel detailing, drafting and Microsoft programs -Excel, Word, One Drive. Experience with Blue Beam, Microsoft Teams, Sketch-Up would be beneficial. Candidate needs to be a problem solver and pay close attention to written specifications and detail drawings. We also use state of the art pricing/design systems provided by the metal building manufacturer.
