President's Message,

It was great to see everyone in Nashville at the 54th Annual MBCEA Conference. We had more than 500 people in attendance and once again, we were co-located with MBMA.
I would like to acknowledge Sasha Demyan for all her time and efforts to bring the conference to fruition. All while keeping up with her regular full time job for MBCEA. Thank you to this year’s conference committee made up of David Leinbach – Kaiser Martin Group, Robert Tiffin – Silvercote, Alexander Carey – Svenska Builders, Jarrod Turner - TBT Construction, Tucker Cope - C Tucker Cope and Associates and Dave Tomchak – Bay Insulation. Tony Bouquot and Kerry Sinclair represent MBMA in the planning of this joint meeting and their input was invaluable.
New this year we offered a builder game. We had almost 60 entrants. This was a speed test with average speeds of 22 seconds. The overall winner with 11.98 seconds was Bryan Turner of TBT Construction. Shown here is Bryan surrounded by his workmates at TBT with Greg Pasley from Butler.
I was pleased to report at conference that our strategic plan has a core mission with an ever-evolving agenda to stay current with our members needs and uphold our mission statement to elevate the professionalism of our industry. We are working towards that goal by creating our metal building assembly curriculum, focusing on re-roof with our new video and presentation at METALCON, enhancing the member experience on our website, and continuing our commitment to AC 478.
Our membership continues to grow. In the last 12 months we’ve added 122 members and have 610 current members. This year we have 398 contractor members, 115 Industry members, 78 regional reps and 19 lifetime members. Our growth is directly related to the work the membership and marketing committee does to raise the profile of the MBCEA. And we are getting more and more contractors and erectors who recognize the benefit of an organization that understands what they do and can provide training and solutions to problems specific to our industry. I would like to thank Robert Tiffin, John Paul Lawrence, Bryan Harshbarger, Dave Tomchak, Don Laro, Tom Granitz, Randy Sharber, Jeff Wolgamott, Dave Pasciak, Scott Bacon and Wes Young.

We will also have a retrofit presentation at METALCON this year about reroof opportunities. METALCON will be held in Las Vegas October 18-20th.
