AWS can as a general contractor or subcontractor depending on the customer and customer needs. Typically, AWS will act as a General Contractor for mid-smaller size builds, and large General Contractors will subcontract AWS for large projects or projects that require site specific trained employees for plant work and out-of-country travel.
