Northwest Chapter News

The time has come to make another push to grow the Northwest MBCEA Chapter. We have unique challenges in this part of the US that other contractors across the US just don’t seem to encounter. Joining the local MBCEA Chapter gets you access to peers that might have knowledge that they are willing to share, and the MBCEA can offer the place to make that exchange happen. We have planned an in-person networking opportunity for January that we hope to make a full out recruiting effort. We need people that are itching to get involved and learn about the benefits of the MBCEA.

The event is planned for a Thursday evening - January 23, 6-9 pm at Top Golf in Hillsboro, OR.

Any non-sponsor member wishing to participate in the event must bring a non-member as your fee for entry. You can bring more than one. We hope to see all active members present, but even more so…we want to see potential recruits.

All parties attending will get:

  • Entry into the facility
  • Two drink tickets
  • Finger foods
  • Top Golf games
  • and more importantly a networking opportunity with peers.

Sponsorships are available for $500 for all interested parties. Sponsorship gets you the following perks:

  • One paid entry into the event (we still want you to bring as many nonmembers as you can drum up) Send someone in your stead if you cannot personally attend.
  • Two drink tickets
  • Finger foods
  • Top Golf Games
  • Equal billing on the event banner that will be displayed at the event
  • Equal acknowledgment at the event during opening/closing remarks
  • Equal billing on all digital promotions pushed out through the MBCEA (emails, social media, MBCEA website, etc.)

Thank you to Chief Buildings, Pacific Building Systems, All Weather Insulated Panels, Bay Insulation, SWD Urethane and NUCOR for pledging sponsorship to date. Please contact Brian Shelton at brian.shelton@chiefind.com with your interest in sponsoring and/or attending.

Mid-Atlantic Chapter News

Mid Atlantic President, Sarah Toth, attended the AIA Tri-State Fusion Conference in Hershey on behalf of the MBCEA with Robert Tiffin, MBCEA National President. Attendees were architects mostly from Mid-Atlantic and New York. Discussed implementation of Accreditation and AC478 in the Metal building industry to have uniformed standards and complement the AC472 accreditation for manufacturers.

The Mid-Atlantic holiday social was held on Friday Dec 14th at Normandy Farms in lovely Blue Bell Pa. It was a fantastic evening with scholarships being awarded to Cade Hutchison and Will Hance. All the evening's photos can be seen here.

Plans are underway for the 2025 training calendar- Stay tuned for a full agenda of upcoming trainings and events.

On a personal note it has been my pleasure serving as Mid-Atlantic President of the MBCEA for the past 2 years and wish the best for our new president Tom Olver from Therm-All. We look forward to introducing the new board next month.

Midwest Chapter News

The Midwest Chapter of MBCEA held its first European hunt at Beede Outdoors near Syracuse, NE. The October weather was great and there was a lot of shooting and laughs! Thank you to those who came out. We are looking forward to seeing everyone again (and more) next fall!
