President's Message - Dec '24
Celebrating A Year: Building For Tomorrow
Imagine this newsletter as a bit of a fireside chat. As we near the end of 2024, it's time to reflect on our journey, celebrate our achievements, and look forward to the new heights we're reaching together.
This year has been a testament to our unwavering commitment to collaboration, and how our association’s strength lies in our unity. The sense of community and collaboration within MBCEA has never been stronger. Throughout the year, we've hosted numerous events, workshops, and conferences that have brought us together to share knowledge, exchange ideas, and forge lasting connections.
Did you log in for one of the monthly webinars? Do you have a favourite? The December Roundtable was a very quick hour of engaging conversations (head of wall fire ratings, marijuana: employees, drones, etc.) with almost 60 members! Want to be sure to not miss the curated ones for 2025: www.mbcea.org/events/ or open the “Events” icon on our MBCEA app.
The annual MBCEA Conference was a resounding success, featuring a lineup of distinguished speakers, insightful panel discussions, conversations, and celebrations with friends! The event provided a platform to learn from industry experts, discuss emerging trends, and explore new opportunities for growth, all woven with threads of camaraderie, fun and laughs (well, if you saw some of my golf swings!).
Is there a bit of regret now missing the 2024? Don’t start 2025 with FOMO; our 56th Annual Conference (2025) registration is open NOW! https://www.mbcea.org/events/56th-annual-mbcea-conference
Thank you to all our chapters as you have been instrumental in fostering local networks and supporting members at the grassroots level. You have organized site visits, safety conversations, and training sessions tailored to the specific needs of your (active and prospective) members. The togetherness and mutual support have been truly inspiring.
Celebrating Our Members
None of our achievements would have been possible without the dedication and passion of our members. This year, we've seen success stories that highlight the exceptional talent and hard work within our association.
From small family-owned businesses to large corporations, our members have demonstrated resilience, creativity, and a commitment to excellence. We've celebrated project completions, certifications, and awards that showcase the diversity and ingenuity of our community.
The 2024 Building of the Year competition highlighted amazing designs and functions. Congratulations again to APX Construction Group as their winning project video is now live on our YouTube Channel and website! The 2025 contest is now open…You know you finished a project this year that you, and others have thought, and/or said ‘WOW.” Yep, that’s the one we would love the opportunity to see and celebrate it, and you! As many a promotion claim…” You can’t win unless you enter!” www.mbceaawards.org
We'd like to extend special recognition to our members who have gone beyond in their efforts to mentor the next generation of industry professionals. By sharing their knowledge and experience, they've ensured that our industry's future is in capable hands.
Looking Ahead
Our focus will remain steadfast on better building practices. We will continue to prioritize safety, innovate relentlessly, and strengthen our collaborative efforts. Our goals include expanding our training programs, advocating for industry-wide safety standards, and fostering a culture of continuous improvement.
We are excited about the upcoming projects and initiatives that will further elevate our industry. With the collective expertise and dedication of our members, we are confident that we will achieve new milestones and set higher benchmarks for excellence.
Thank You, Truly, Thank You
In closing, we extend our heartfelt gratitude to each one of you. Your dedication, passion, and commitment have been the driving force behind our successes this year. Reaching new heights together, we have made significant strides in advancing our industry and ensuring a safer tomorrow for all.
Will you all join me to extend and shout out a special thank you to Sasha and Britain, for each day they put their passion into our Association, and the wonderful results they drive. Thank you, Sasha, Thank you Britain.
Let's continue to work together, support each other, and embrace the opportunities that lie ahead. Here's to a prosperous and innovative 2025!
Warmest regards.
